Many people consider Blue Ridge Coral or Helipora to be of the SPS
variety but actually it is a soft coral. Each polyp has 8 pinules that
identifys it as an Octocoral. Octocorals are Soft corals. Very easy
coral to grow. Can grow very quickly and tends to "shed" a lot, much
like other soft corals. Give it lots of flow and light and it will become
very hairy and one of your favorite corals. The hard skeleton is blue
which gives it its common name.
